A South Florida doctor has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a patient. Ronald “Ron” DeMeo, 63, a resident of Miami, was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces three counts of sexual battery involving a physically helpless victim. The incident allegedly occurred on October 25, 2025, at DeMeo’s cosmetic surgery facility in Miami.
According to arrest documents, the alleged victim is a 29-year-old woman who had undergone a follow-up procedure at the facility. She claims that during the procedure, she inhaled a sedative, which was meant to alleviate pain along with prescribed medication. The victim described how a staff member offered her a glass of wine, a practice that is reportedly common at the facility. She accepted the drink.
As the procedure began, the victim recalled the doctor saying he would return shortly and then inhaling the sedative. She stated that the doctor closed the blinds in the procedure room before moving her to another office. According to her account, the doctor was above her and engaged in sexual intercourse without her consent.
The victim said she felt too impaired to speak or fight back, and simply closed her eyes hoping the assault would end. She emphasized that she never gave the doctor any form of consent for the sexual activity. She also mentioned that she left the facility without speaking to any staff members. Days later, she discovered a video of the incident on her cellphone.
Law enforcement officials viewed the video, which they believe shows nonconsensual sexual acts and gestures between the victim and the doctor. Before being taken into custody, DeMeo was allowed to call the property manager of his residence to grant law enforcement permission to execute a search warrant. However, when these calls failed, DeMeo contacted another number, which turned out to be his attorney.
During a court hearing on Thursday, DeMeo’s attorney, Daniel A. Lurvey, argued that the encounter was consensual. He claimed that the victim and her legal team had demanded $10 million from DeMeo, which he refused. Lurvey also stated that DeMeo recently filed a lawsuit against the victim for extortion, which prompted her to report the incident to the police.
DeMeo’s attorney presented a video that he claims clearly demonstrates the encounter was consensual. “This is a shakedown by this alleged victim,” Lurvey said during the court hearing. “It is outrageous what is going on.”
When Judge Mindy S. Glazer asked how the victim’s cellphone could have recorded the incident, Lurvey explained that during civil mediation, the victim had stated that the phone fell to the ground and accidentally started recording.
Miami Police Department Officer and Public Information Officer Mike Vega provided a statement regarding the video. He said that the victim was documenting the procedure on her phone in short videos. As she recorded, she also took a gas to calm down and a pill to help her relax. During the recording, she passed out, and the phone fell to the ground, capturing everything as it lay next to her lap with the screen facing down and the camera facing up.
On Thursday afternoon, Judge Glazer denied bond for DeMeo and ordered him to serve an in-house arrest. He must wear an electronic monitoring device and avoid all contact with the victim.
